Reflections by Ronee: Groundbreaking in Sarasota

One of our favorite things about working at Flutter FETTI is getting to be a part of other people’s celebrations.  Recently, we had the pleasure of helping Clarke Advertising and Public Relations (on behalf of Taubman and Benderson Development Company) conduct a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Mall at University Town Center in Sarasota, Florida.  Their hope is to become the premier shopping destination in the area and what better way to kick it off than with a huge blast of Flutter FETTI’s best confetti!

The agency ordered 12 confetti launchers and since the groundbreaking was only an hour away from the office, we gladly sent our technician Jon to help them set up the products (per their request).  The launchers were hung, the test shots were successful, and everyone was looking forward to the event the following day.

But let’s be real here, nothing is ever that easy.  An unforeseen rainstorm blew in the next day right at the start of the event.  While the confetti launchers are waterproof, their cardboard compression caps are not, and so amidst the upscale event Jon scrambled to find some plastic coverings.  Fortunately, he was able to cut up an old plastic sheet, cover all the caps, secure them with rubber bands, and save the day!

Best of all, the sun peeked out just before the big announcement and the confetti shots went off without a hitch.  Another fabulous outdoor event, made more fabulous by Flutter FETTI!  We were so happy to be a part of it and look forward to so many more.  If you ever want to add the “WOW!” factor to your groundbreaking event, just give us a call.
